Review: A Gentleman Says I Do by Amelia Grey

Burgeoning author Catalina Crisp completes a parody involving twins Iverson and Matson Brentwood's scandalous arrival in London and publishes it under her father's name. When the writing hits the town, it's not long before a darkly handsome man--Lord Iverson Brentwood himself--is at her door, looking for her father with blood in his eyes. Dallying with the dashing rogue seems like the perfect escape...and it should calm him down enough to leave her father alone. But Catalina does the exact opposite--she heats him up like no other woman ever has...

Sometimes, I really just want to read a light, entertaining romp that will sweep me away from my everyday life and thoroughly engage me. I am happy to say that A Gentleman Says I Do by Amelia Grey does just that. Was it a quick read? Yes. Did it keep me thoroughly engaged from beginning to end? Not only did it do so, it kept me awake into the early morning hours trying to get to the end even as my tired brain kept trying to get me to go to sleep!
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the characters - from the smart, practical Catalina and oh-so-sexy rake Iverson to the often tipsy and eccentric Aunt Elle. They all added a little something special to the story, but the interactions between Catalina and Iverson were fantastic. I love the way she went toe to toe with him (sometimes literally), giving as well as she got and not allowing him to intimidate her. I felt they were pretty evenly matched, which was refreshing.
All in all, it was a wonderful story that I had a lot of fun reading, and I was sorry to see it end. I'd definitely recommend this to others.

Authors In Bloom Giveaway Hop/Enter to Win A Nook/Enter to Win a Kindle!

A Little Gardening Tip

Hello and welcome to my little gardening patch on the Authors in Bloom blog hop! My gardening tip actually pertains more to houseplants than to actual gardens, though it could probably apply there as well! And it is this: ween. Whenever you see leaves that are yellowed, dried out, or both, pull them off. This not only makes the plant look nicer without all that dead stuff on it, but it also allows the plant to grow more. Kind of like trimming your hair to get rid of split ends so it will grow!

Contest Time!

As part of the hop, I am giving away an e-copy of my book, Sloane Wolf - perfect for a Nook or a Kindle - to a participant on this blog. This is open internationally. Please leave a comment with your email address to be entered. Extra entries for following my blog - if you already do, make sure to say so! - just leave in a separate comment. Thanks and good luck!

And now for my phrases! Don't forget to collect them and add them to the others on the hop to form the story for your chance at the grand prize of a Nook or Kindle!
